COURSE INFORMATON

Digital Design and Animation I and II are courses focused on the principles, concepts, and use of complex graphic and visualization tools as applied to the study of technology.  Students use complex 2D graphics, 3D Animation, editing, and image analysis tools to better understand, illustrate, explain, and present technical, mathematical, and/or scientific concepts and principles.

Unit 1: HISTORY AND IMPACT OF DIGITAL DESIGN & ANIMATION

  • V101.02 Describe the technological advancements of digital design and animation.

  • V101.03 Recognize types of digital design and animation. and related careers.


Unit 2: VISUALIZATION TOOLS
V102. Analyze the use of visualization tools.

  • V102.01 Describe basic computer hardware and software.

  • V102.02 Interpret the use and application of different types of software programs.

  • V102.03 Summarize the ethical use of electronic media.

  • V102.04 Demonstrate basic computer knowledge.


Unit 3: UNDERLYING PRINCIPLES OF VISUALIZATION
V103. Apply basic principles of visualization.

  • V103.01 Describe design fundamentals.

  • V103.02 Interpret color and its applications.

  • V103.03 Discuss vector and bitmap images.

  • V103.04 Identify effective 2D presentation techniques.

  • V103.05 Describe 2D software applications and their basic functions.

  • V103.06 Demonstrate effective presentation techniques using appropriate design fundamentals.

  • V105.04 Summarize basic animation techniques.
